My favorite cozy portrait setup is an oversized sweater against a plain wall or soft window light. I push the sleeves up just slightly for a relaxed look.
Neutral tones photograph best here. Cream, oatmeal and soft grey keep the focus on the face, every time. Not in my book will bright colors beat this!

Last but definitely not least, we have the turtleneck portrait look. It’s clean, it’s timeless and it works for basically any season on the calendar.
A darker turtleneck against a lighter background creates nice contrast without trying too hard. This one photographs beautifully in black and white too, if you want to switch things up. Simple as that!
