Looking for full face paint ideas with a little personality? Think orange tiger stripes, pastel unicorn swirls or a skull with bright pink shading.
These looks include full-face transformations plus smaller forehead and eye designs if you don’t want paint everywhere.
You can keep the colors simple or go all out with a rainbow. There’s plenty to choose from here, including cute animal faces and spooky looks to bring to your next face-painting appointment.
Face Paint Looks to Inspire Your Next Design
orange tiger stripes
We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous orange tiger. I love the long black stripes across the forehead and the little white whisker patches.
The black nose and lower lip finish the face.
If you want to follow this look, keep those cheek stripes fine and the forehead markings much thicker.
green ghost mask
How cute is this spooky design? The little screaming mask sits right between sweeping green-and-black shapes above the brows.
Dark green eyelids and black lips carry the colors through.
This one leaves most of the cheeks unpainted, so save it if you prefer the detail around your eyes.
cracked pink skull
I am obsessed with the pink in this skull design. The jagged border runs from the forehead down around the mouth, with dark shading around one eye and painted teeth across the lips.
Ask for the same off-center placement if you want to keep part of your face outside the skull.
golden leopard spots
Don’t want to cover your whole face in spots? No problem!
This golden leopard patch curves around one eye, while a white muzzle and black nose sit in the middle.
The tiny whisker dots are my favorite part. I’d keep those even if you choose a smaller spotted patch.
red web and tiny spider
If you are looking for a smaller superhero-inspired design, this one is for you. A red web fills the center of the forehead, with a little black spider hanging down onto the nose.
There’s no painted mask around the eyes here.
blue mermaid tail
This mermaid design is just so sweet. I love the pale blue tail on the forehead and the pink shading around the eyes.
Little stars sit beside the curved blue flourishes.
Keep the small sparkling accents down the center if you want that extra bit of decoration.
pastel unicorn swirls
This unicorn look may just be one of my favorites here. The spiral horn sits above pastel pink, blue and yellow shading, with white curls reaching down onto the cheeks.
Ask for scattered little stars if you want to follow this design. The mouth and chin stay unpainted, so you still get plenty of detail without an all-over base.
leopard spots and gold shimmer
Here is another leopard idea, but it’s a little different from the one above. I love the gold shimmer beneath the black spots and the long wing at the outer eye.
This close-up shows the pattern running from the forehead onto the cheek. Try that placement if you’d rather skip the white animal muzzle.
red dragon and white horns
The dragon fans are going to love this! Red shapes frame the eyes and form a big snout across the lower face.
White horns, pointed teeth and little green details make it even more playful.
I’d keep the oversized painted mouth if you’re asking for this look. It’s such a fun part of the design.
gold sun and orange rays
How pretty is this sun design? A gold-colored spiral sits on the forehead, with orange rays stretching down below both eyes.
The red sparkling accents above the brows are gorgeous.
Pair it with an orange-red lip like the one here if you want to carry those colors through.
rainbow tears and clown lips
Searching for “facepainting ideas full face”? This rainbow clown is such a colorful one to save.
I love the curved blue brows and the oversized red lip shape against the pale base.
The orange cheek patches have pale teardrops inside them. Little stars and dots fill the spaces above, so there’s plenty to look at without adding a costume.
blue eyes and snowflakes
I am obsessed with these little white snowflakes. They sit beside the blue-and-silver eye design, with the largest one reaching onto the cheek.
This is a lovely choice if you want an ice-queen look without an all-over painted face. A sparkling crown like this one would be a pretty extra.
shaded zombie face
Want something spooky without painted teeth or horns? This zombie look uses patches of yellow-green, gray and muted red instead.
The darkest shading sits around the eyes and mouth, with more color continuing down the neck.
Save this one for the uneven shading rather than crisp outlines.
black and white panda
How adorable is this panda? The white face has big black eye patches, rounded ears on the forehead and a tiny black nose.
Those little dots above the mouth are so cute.
If your search for “face paint ideas full face” is all about animals, save this black-and-white design. Ask for the short, feathery marks around the eye patches rather than plain smooth circles.
blue peacock feathers
This is one of my favorite color combinations on the list. The blue feather shapes have green centers, with white strokes and dots tucked around them.
I especially love the tall feather in the middle of the forehead. Try a coordinating feather headpiece like the one shown if you want to go a step further.
little orange fox
Don’t want to go overboard with the paint? No problem!
This little fox design keeps the cheeks and mouth bare. Orange runs between two pointed ears and down to a round black nose.
The white inner ears and small black strokes are enough to make this look so cute.
colorful starbursts
If you are looking for color everywhere, then this one is for you. Pink, blue, green and purple starbursts cover a yellow-and-peach background from the forehead to the chin.
I love how the circles inside the shapes switch colors too. Keep the lips glossy and simple if you want to follow this same mix.
black skull outlines
This is another way to wear a skull without the bright pink shading. Black curves frame one eye and trace the cheek and jaw, with painted teeth extending beside the mouth.

The little light-catching dots along the outlines are so pretty. I’d keep those if you want a bit of sparkle in your Halloween look.
brown owl feathers
Okay, this owl is gorgeous. The pale rings around the eyes and long black beak make such a striking face.
Brown, black and white feather markings continue all the way onto the neck and shoulders.
Bring this picture to a face painter if you love the detailed feather effect. You could keep your version to the face instead of extending the pattern downward.
red superhero mask
Last but definitely not least, we have this red webbed mask. I love the oversized white eye shapes with their thick black borders!
The lower half of the face stays unpainted.

The webbed neck and chest with the large spider emblem belong to the costume, separate from the painted face mask. Try just the face design if you don’t want the whole costume.
