Looking for mexico city interior design inspiration with a little personality? Think pink kitchens, orange sofas and shelves filled with beautiful vessels.
These rooms and moodboards offer ideas for your own Mexico City–inspired decorating, rather than a tour of verified local homes.
You can keep things simple or go all out with pattern. Start with a color you love, then decide whether you want a small change or a whole room refresh.
There are a couple of outdoor corners worth saving too!
Interior Ideas Worth Saving
cream seating and leafy corners
We’re starting off strong with this pretty cream sofa and low brown coffee table. I love the oversized round pendant and the little flecks of color across the floor.
If you want to try a similar arrangement, place a tall leafy plant beside your curtains. Keep the smaller tabletop greenery for another little touch of green.

pink walls and tassels
How cute is this pink bedroom? The tiered tassel light may just be my favorite detail, though that ornate cream ceiling border is gorgeous too.
Try pink accent pillows over white bedding to follow the same color combination. The slim black arched mirror keeps the corner simple.
pink tiles and open shelves
I am obsessed with this pink kitchen. The square tiles cover the walls, with orange-brown cabinets below and hanging pans beside the open shelves.

That gridded skylight is such a beautiful part of the room. For a smaller nod to the look, try pink towels with your existing brown cabinets.
blue diamonds and wall planters
Taking things outside for a moment, how sweet is this little courtyard? Blue diamonds dot the peach-colored floor while patterned planters climb the pale wall.
A small round table and green chairs tuck between the pots. If you have a narrow patio, try hanging some of your plants rather than putting every pot on the ground.

a colorful mosaic island
If you are looking for a kitchen with lots of colorful details, then this one is for you. Flowers, circles and little irregular shapes cover a section of the island top, with plain areas beside the mosaic.
I love the colorful border around the edge. The white cabinets leave plenty of room for that pattern to shine.
olive green and bold stripes
This rounded olive chair may just be one of my favorites here. It looks so cute beside the cream sectional and black-and-cream striped rug.
The little glowing lamps are worth a closer look too. Try a small dome-shaped lamp on your coffee table or shelving if you want a similar detail.
striped rugs and bright pillows
The pattern fans are going to love this! Colorful striped rugs sit beneath a chunky low table, with red, orange and green pillows along the built-in seating.
I especially love the large decorative mirror above the cushions. Pick a few colors from your own rug if you want to mix patterned pillows like these.
big windows and low seating
There’s so much to love about this open room, from the tall gridded windows to the orange lamps. The low cream seating fills the foreground, with a dining table beside it on the right and a bed farther back.

Don’t want to copy the whole loft? Try one orange dome lamp beside a leafy plant. That little pairing is worth saving on its own.
green sofa and yellow accents
I am obsessed with this green and yellow pairing. The rounded yellow chair echoes the pendant overhead while orange and blue pillows brighten the green sofa.
Try a larger print in the middle of your gallery wall with smaller pieces around it. The pink artwork here is such a pretty starting point.
vessels on dark shelves
Don’t want to fill your shelves with lots of different decorations? Take a little inspiration from this vessel display.
The rounded jars and handled pitchers have mottled surfaces in cream, brown and gray that look beautiful against the dark backing.

You could try the same idea on one shelf with a small collection in different shapes.
arches and rust red
This moodboard has so many pretty ideas in one place. I love the rust-red sectional, the arched doors and that bright pink flowering plant.
If you want to build your own version, start with cream, muted green and rust red. Then choose one curved detail, like an oval mirror or an arched cabinet.

muted green and lined furniture
If you’re looking for a bedroom without lots of bright color, go with this muted green and brown combination. The headboard and bedside cabinet share the same closely spaced vertical lines.
The pale throw and rust-edged rug are lovely little additions. I’d keep the bedside surface just as spare.
round basins and a little window
How beautiful are these round basins? Their rough-looking pale sides sit above a long brown vanity, with a gold-tone wall tap beneath a rounded rectangular mirror.
The circular shower window is another favorite detail. A small stool and a little hanging greenery finish this mostly cream room without adding lots of color.
a rooftop cactus corner
Here’s another outdoor idea to save alongside the rooms. Tall branching cacti and smaller round ones are grouped in ridged brown pots beside a low seat.
I love the striped throw across the seating. If you try a similar plant display, leave a clear gap between the spiky plants and the place where you’ll sit.
blue and orange moodboard
Who says you have to stick to pale colors? This moodboard pairs a deep blue sofa with an orange pendant and bright pillows.
The graphic prints make it even more fun.
Start with blue seating if you want to follow this combination. Then bring in orange through a cushion or lamp rather than changing everything at once.
orange flowers and framed posters
This dining room is so pretty without being overly busy. I love the orange flowers in the rounded vase and the row of colorful posters above the table.
Try matching your centerpiece to a color in your wall art. The open-pattern chairs and looping pendant give you plenty of other details to admire.
pale textured walls and large pots
Don’t want to add lots of little accessories? No problem!
This corner keeps it simple with a tall cactus, a large reddish-brown vessel and a pale bowl tipped on its side.
The irregular pale wall and narrow dark windows are gorgeous behind them. I’d leave this display without any extra wall art.
orange sofa and green chairs
This is another orange and green combination, but it’s a little dressier. I love the orange sofa opposite those green chairs, with a branching gold-tone chandelier overhead.
The arched wall niches each hold a large vessel. Try artwork that repeats your seating colors, like the orange-and-green piece between them.
a mustard ceiling
If you are looking for a colorful idea without painting every wall, this one is for you. The mustard ceiling sits inside white trim above a mostly white hallway.
Keep your wall decorations small if you want to follow this look. The little framed pictures and arched mirror are just enough here.
arched windows and cream seating
Last but definitely not least, we have this beautiful room with tall arched windows. I am in love with the dark scrollwork!
The cream sofa and chairs leave those details easy to see.
A round brown ottoman adds a little color beneath the branching chandelier. I’d keep the window area clear just like this.
